Sustainable development is an amazingly simple and straightforward concept. It is based on the irrefutable fact that it is impossible to endlessly grow within a finite system and adverts that humankind cannot continue to extract minerals, use water reserves, shrink forests, extinct animals and plant species and pollute the air as if they were endlessly available.
It states the obvious truth that humankind has to learn to live within the boundaries of Ecosystem Earth, for the simple reason that it is the only planet we’ve got to live on.
